My paintings are characterized by figurative representational expressionism, with a deep love for color and a focus on people. I enjoy painting people, their expressions, and their movements.
Many of my paintings are dedicated to celebrating folkloric traditions of Puerto Rico like Bomba and Plena. There is so much passion expressed in the dance movements and in the beat of the tambores (drums) and panderos (tambourine). Both are part of the my Afro-Caribbean heritage of Puerto Rico.
I also love painting women in various settings. As a Hispanic woman, I can attest to the struggles we encounter and endure on our path to equality. I hope to enlighten, inspire, and empower woman and young girls to overcome and succeed through my art and words.
